United States:  Enevo, a specialist in smart sensors and analytics-based logistics optimisation solutions for the waste management and recycling industries, has opened a new office in downtown San Francisco. The California expansion represents the second office development in the USA over the course of a year in response to a ‘quickly growing’ customer base.

‘California, and the Bay Area in particular, have been at the forefront of the recycling movement and finding new ways to look at waste as a valuable resource that can be reused efficiently, both from a financial and environmental point of view,’ comments Enevo’s ceo Fredrik Kekalainen.

‘We are excited to have a location close to our installed customer base on the West Coast,’ adds Christy Hurlburt, Enevo’s Western Regional sales manager. ‘The local team will now be able to provide more localised support for both our loyal and new customers.’

Enevo’s headquarters are in Finland, with other sales offices in the UK, Japan, Germany and Hong Kong. The firm’s latest innovation is Enevo ONe, which substitutes ‘static routes’ for waste collection trucks with ‘smart’ pick-up schedules thanks to wireless sensors that gather fill-level data from waste containers. The ‘ideal’ route for the fleet can yield up to 50% cost savings, factoring in truck availability, traffic information, road restrictions, etc.
