Medicine Collection Event to be held in Tallahassee at Costco

Tallahassee, FL —

On Saturday, April 27th (from 10 am to 2 pm) a collection event (Operation Medicine Cabinet) will be held at Costco in Tallahassee for unwanted or unneeded medications, both over the counter and prescription.

This collection event will provide City of Tallahassee and Leon County residents the opportunity to properly dispose of their unused or unneeded medications, protecting the environment and lessening the chances for the illegal and potentially harmful use of these drugs.

The event is being organized by Southern Waste Information eXchange, Inc. (SWIX) in partnership with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Leon County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO), Costco, Mothers for Mother Earth, Inc., Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University’s Institute of Public Health, Florida State University’s Institute of Science and Public Affairs (ISPA) and iHeartMedia (WTNT 94.9, WFLA 100.7).
