Speaker Bio:

As Vice President – Director of Business Development, Patti Hamilton brings over 28 years of leadership, sales and marketing experience to Southern Waste Systems and its affiliate companies, Sun Recycling, Sun Disposal and All Star. As part of the Executive team she is instrumental in the strategic planning and operation of all companies with a focus on sales, marketing, training and legislative planning. She represents the company regarding recycling issues at both the local and state level.

Patti began her business career with General Motors Corporation after receiving her Bachelors of Business Administration from Northwood University in Midland, Michigan.

A native of Michigan, she has been actively involved in the Palm Beach County business community for nearly 20 years. A move into the automotive retail industry led her to hold every marketing and sales management position in the retail environment, including having full operational responsibility as General Manager. Most recently she held the position of Vice President-Director of Marketing for the Schumacher Automotive Group in Palm Beach County.

Hamilton is a member of the NSWMA, Construction Materials Recycling Assoc. and Recycle Florida Today. She has held leadership roles with a wide variety of non-profit organizations over the past 20 years and brings her philanthropic spirit to the community minded culture of Southern Waste Systems.

Hamilton has been an active member of the North Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce since 1997 where she is a past Chairman of the Board.  She served as the General Chairman of the 2005 and 2006 Artigras Fine Arts Festivals. She is currently on the board of the Business Development Board of Palm Beach County, the Education Foundation of Palm Beach County and the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches. In addition, she serves on the board of the Florida Festivals and Events Association and the Boca Raton Champions Golf Charities.

Hamilton was instrumental in the founding of the ATHENA Awards in Palm Beach County in 1992 and was honored with the award in 2002. She was the recipient of the Northwood University National Alumni Award in 1992, the March of Dimes Women of Distinction in 2000 and the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches, Women in Leadership Award in the Volunteer category in the spring of 2007.

 In addition, she has received community recognition awards from the Boys and Girls Clubs, the Boy Scouts and in 2009 she received the Artist Showcase of the Palm Beaches, Community Award.

A resident of Tequesta, Florida, she and her husband Charlie are the parents of three children, Parker, Madison and Reed.  In her spare time, she enjoys reading and studying history, travel, golf and sports. She spends her weekends as a “baseball and volleyball mom” and volunteering with her children in tow.  She is also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd and is active in church ministries including serving as a Lay Eucharist Minister.

Abstract:

This presentation will examine current markets for construction and demolition debris recyclables.
