MEDICINE COLLECTION EVENTS TO BE HELD IN WALTON COUNTY

Walton County, FL —On Saturday, March 24, the Southern Waste Information eXchange, Inc. (SWIX), in partnership with the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), #safewaterforWalton, Northwest Florida State College, Florida State University’s Center for Biomedical & Toxicological Research (CBTR), Walton County School Board and the Walton County Sheriff’s Office, will hold two collection events for unwanted or unneeded medications, both over the counter and prescription.

Two convenient drop-off locations:

10:00 AM – NOON:              WALTON MIDDLE SCHOOL
605 Bruce Avenue
DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433

2:00 PM – 4:00 PM:            BUTLER ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
6694 W. County Highway 30A
Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459

These collection events will provide Walton County citizens the opportunity to properly dispose of their unused or unneeded medications, protecting the environment and lessening the chances for the illegal and potentially harmful use of these drugs.
